Starting to think I should replace the terms Techniques and Foci with something else.
First, I need a term to describe the two elements of the game together, I am getting tired of saying "techniques and foci" whenever I am refering to something that applies to either of them. And I have an attribute called Focus, which is starting to cause some term confusion.
So I am thinking I will switch to Method and Medium
(ha, you thought I was going to say Madness, didn't you?)
So the way that your magic works upon the world (i.e. it creates something, it destroys something, it transforms something, etc) is called a Method. And the thing that you are acting upon in the universe (creating fire, destroying fire, transforming fire, fire, fire, fire) is called the Medium.
And then call the two of them as a group, the totality of your magical "skills"; call them Techniques as a combined unit.
